Muga Ghisa silk Handwoven Shawl, Crafted from Muga Silk, the most valued exclusively reared silk produced in Assam, India. The golden colour is its natural colour. The yarn produces is a natural rich golden yellow or light brown colour depending on the host plant it feeds on. Antheraea assamensis, commonly known as the Muga silkworm, is a wild moth. Hence it is categorised as Vanya Silk or Wild silk by the silk board of India.

Ghicha silk is referred to wastes of silk cocoons of Muga, Eri or Tassar in India Since, these yarns are made from the cocoon wastes, they are coarser and uneven, resulting in textiles that have very unique textures. They are also be heavier than the textiles made from the fine yarns.

Muga Silk becomes finer, softer, and shinier with time, making it a true asset to your wardrobe.
